Besides the obvious that is wrong with this plan, I and others enjoy canoeing and fishing in Bluewater.

My 9th grade Economics teacher at Wilson High School hammered the fact to us that "nothing is free." What's free to one is simply paid by another. I hope that wherever this treatment plant is built, that the people living nearby it, who will pay and suffer the costs of such a facility, will be reimbursed financially for their losses and if their physical lives are damaged, that they would receive high compensation for that as well. Mrs. Wallace was right. Nothing is free.

The Mayor of Killen has refused to allow East Lauderdale Environment Conscious Citizens (ELEEC) to be placed on future town council meeting agendas. He has also requested the citizens against the sewer treatment plant site to not attend future council meetings. Needless to say, we WILL be at the meetings to show the Mayor and his council that we are NOT giving up, we will NOT be pushed aside or ignored and we WILL win. Much information re AUS, proving they are financially unstable and questioning their integrity, has been presented by ELECC at every meeting of the council since late last year. These are proven statements from information gathered in Montgomery that the Mayor refuses to acknowledge as fact. We need everyone who is against this permit being issued by ADEM to attend all the Killen Town Council meetings they can and support the citizens who are fighting to keep this plant in Killen where it belongs. We WILL continue to exercise our right to free speech by being active ELECC members. Thank you to Barbara Austin for having the courage to stand up for what she believes is the right thing to do. It can't be easy being the only Killen Town Council member who is against the Blue Water treatment site and has the guts to say it.
